Snowmageddon

The DC area was hit by a major snowstorm this weekend. Since the car could not be moved and all aboveground public transit was shut down, Rebekah and Mom could only venture out and sightsee in the neighborhood.

Here is Rebekah wandering through a shoveled maze of paths around her favorite summer time hangout - the fountain:

Rebekah can only dream of warmer weather at this point - even more snow is expected later this week.

Moving on Up

Rebekah recently had her 18 month check-up. Rebekah is right on target both physically and cognitively.

Here are her latest stats:

* Weight = 23 lbs. 3 oz., an increase of 16 lbs. 3 oz. since birth

* Height = 32 1/4 in., an increase of 13 in. since birth

* Head Circumference = 18 1/4 in., an increase of 4 7/8 in. since birth

She followed up picture time with her favorite naughty activity - escaping into the hallway:

Rebekah won't be able to keep up her antics much longer since Mom, Dad, and Rebekah are moving to a new place right down the street. Mom and Dad will definitely be Rebekah-proofing the new doors.

Mom and Dad cannot believe that Rebekah is 18 months old today. Here she is talking on one of her many phones, conducting one of her very animated conversations that always ends in "Bye!" Mom and Dad can only guess who was on the phone - maybe she was calling her buddy, Morris, to congratulate him on his new baby sister, Dorothy.

Rebekah is really getting into the swing of talking. Whether she is showing someone a "book" or pointing at food and saying "have," she is finally communicating. However, she understands much more than she can say and readily follows directions - well, that is, if she feels like following directions. Rebekah is a great little girl and Mom and Dad can't wait to see what else she learns in the coming months.

L'artiste

After receiving some markers for Christmas, Rebekah is trying hard to become the next Renoir or Monet. Earlier this evening, Rebekah took another stab at creating a fine piece of art. Here is Rebekah completely engrossed in her work:
