Happy Halloween!
Rebekah says, "Happy Halloween!" It's all treats and no tricks here with Rebekah. You can choose which treat you'd like to meet from the following choices:

Mummy Time
Rebekah and Dad trekked out to Virginia today and visited Mom at work for lunch. Rebekah brought the appropriate bib for a Halloween-week lunch visit...
...and proceeded to let Mom know what she thought about working. (Mom agreed.)

DC Sightseeing
On Saturday, Rebekah visited the National Museum of Health and Medicine on the campus of the Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Afterwards, while we ate out at a restaurant, Rebekah seemed to be comtemplating all that she learned. Either that or she was having flashbacks from the exhibit that the museum had on the stages of fetal development.
On Sunday, Rebekah attended DCCX, a bike race held on the grounds of the Armed Forces Retirement Home, which she obviously found very exciting:
She perked up when we went to the Washington Animal Rescue League's PawFest, where she got to meet all the cats and dogs available for adoption at the no-kill shelter. Rebekah was used to the cats but didn't know what to make of the dogs.

She can't wait to see what we do next weekend.

Halloween 101
Rebekah has been learning all about Halloween.
First, Dad told her about the dressing up and all of the free candy, which sounded yummy...
...but then he told her that she is too young for candy. Plus, that whole "no teeth" thing is working against her. Dad even told her that he might use her as a prop to get free candy for himself. (Cue the serious/disappointed mug shot face.)

Ultimately, she decided that she is still excited since she's heard a rumor that life won't always be toothless and she's got a whole lifetime of Halloweens ahead of her.

Playtime with Aaron
Okay, so maybe the title of this entry should be more like "Playtime with Aaron's Toys." Rebekah visited Aaron today and was in awe of his baby toys, which his mom and dad pulled out from the basement just for her. Aaron was more than willing to share but jumped right in to explore with her and seemed to be reminiscing about the good ol' days, when he wasn't bogged down with the responsibilities of a 14 month old.
Here's Rebekah trying to hog all of the goods:

Rebekah on the Range
Today, Rebekah went to a farm - Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary. As a city girl, Rebekah was astonished to discover that the world is more than tall buildings, concrete, and cars, and that there are more animals than cats, dogs, and rats.
After meeting some of the bigger residents...
...she decided to play it safe and hang back in her Baby Bjorn.

Rockin' & Rollin'
Rebekah is now rolling over from her back to her front. She started yesterday and is already a pro. Once she gets on to her stomach though, she doesn't know what to do next. She usually likes to babble all the time but her newfound mobility really leaves her speechless.

All Aboard!
Rebekah had train fever today. She visited D.C.'s Union Station for their 100th anniversary celebration, which featured several train cars open for tours. And, in order to get there, she finally took her first Metro ride.
Here she is riding the subway to Union Station, which was probably disappointing since she isn't tall enough to look out the windows:
Even when Dad spent too long looking at all of the trains, Rebekah now knows how to keep herself entertained - her new hobby of finger/thumb/knuckle sucking...
...which meant that Rebekah stayed in a good mood all day.
