Christmas Fun

Although she seemed completely unaware of what was happening, Rebekah had a nice little Christmas. After waking up and running over to her pile of gifts, here she is meeting her new pup from Grandpa Wright:

She was very animated all day, reacting to all of her new loot:

Mom and Dad still think that Rebekah is the best gift of all.

Let It Snow!

Even though she was around last winter, Rebekah finally witnessed her first big snowfall today. Washington, DC, received well over twelve inches of snow. Rebekah headed outside this afternoon to behold the winter wonderland.

Maybe it was all the clothes, maybe it was the cold, maybe it was the blinding whiteness, but she did not seem very impressed.

Wintertime Antics

With temperatures cooling down outside, Rebekah met up with her pal, Riley, at the Wheaton Mall indoor playground today.

Here is Rebekah cruising in a stationery car, looking quite proud of her steering abilities:

And here are the girls climbing - one of Rebekah's favorite activities:

Hitting the Books

Rebekah has been very excited to sit at her new table and chair set that her buddy, Riley, passed down to her. She always looks so proud of herself when she climbs into and sits in a chair. Here she is tonight, settling down for bed and leafing through some fine literature at her pint-sized desk:

Ikea

Rebekah loves to run around the children's section of the Ikea store in College Park, Maryland. On Friday night, she ran around grabbing everything in sight and making a list for Santa. Here she is inside one of the stuffed animal bins, both overwhelmed and excited by all of the toys at her disposal:

Happy Thanksgiving!

Rebekah would like to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving!

Here she is enjoying some Tofurkey and mashed potatoes with Mom and Dad:

Rebekah is thankful that she has much more hair than she did at Thanksgiving last year.

Montgomery County Thanksgiving Parade

On Saturday, Rebekah attended the 12th annual Montgomery County Thanksgiving Parade, which is held right outside her door in downtown Silver Spring. Although Mom and Dad didn't blog about it last year, Rebekah attended the 2008 parade in freezing temperatures. Rebekah found this year's parade to be much more enjoyable now that she is a curious toddler and not an infant wrapped like a mummy. She was in awe of all of the sights and sounds - marching bands, dance groups, trained dogs, and huge helium balloons passing overhead.

All she needs now is her feast on Thursday to make her Thanksgiving complete.

What You Talkin' 'Bout?

Mom and Dad are starting to think that Rebekah is somehow catching reruns of Diff'rent Strokes. Now whenever she gets perplexed, Rebekah has been giving everyone her best Arnold Jackson impression.

Library Time

Rebekah loves to visit the library. She has become a big fan of books, particularly ones featuring animals ("cats"). Rebekah recently stopped by the Silver Spring Library. When she wasn't kissing the "cat"...

... or eating the toys,

she was pulling all of the books off of the shelves and looking for her next read.

CAT

Rebekah's favorite word is "cat." And a "cat" is not just a cat, but any animal in general. To top it off, her impression of every animal's sound is just her panting. Here she is at a recent open house at the Washington Animal Rescue League, astounded by the sight of a "cat" and panting her brains out:

Astute readers will remember that Rebekah attended last year's annual WARL fall open house. This year, Rebekah is well aware that it will soon be cold. Here is another picture of Rebekah, enjoying a nice fall day in the park and hoping that it stays warm for just a little longer:

More Halloween

As an update to yesterday's Halloween post, Mom and Dad have since received some pictures taken by Riley's grandmother. Enjoy!

Happy Halloween!

Unlike last year, Rebekah is finally old enough to wear a costume and really get into the spirit of Halloween. Although Mom originally though that Rebekah might want to be a cat (her favorite word), she sobbed uncontrollablyevery time she was dressed in the costume. Fortunately, Mom found her a costume that did not cause misery - a pink bunny.

Rebekah started out her Halloween day with a morning bash at Riley's place. Rebekah the Bunny got to hang out with a Riley the Panda, Ferris the Ballerina, Ava the Cat, Sydney the Mouse, and Daniel the Fireman.

And she also got to chow down on some yummy food.

Later in the day, Rebekah wandered over to the Downtown Silver Spring Monster Mash.

She is already trying to decide what she will be next year.

Doogie Howser, MD

Dr. Rebekah is marveling the medical world with her knowledge:

And, yes, The Doctor is currently accepting new patients. Since Rebekah isn't old enough to use the phone yet, call either Mom or Dad for an appointment.

Baby Jamboree

Rebekah just spent a wild weekend in Norfolk with Andrew. While Mom was at a baby shower for a baby pal-to-be, Rebekah partied with Andrew, Morris, Henry, and Annie and a pack of Dads (who failed to capture the chaos on film). She capped off her weekend with a Monday doctor's appointment for her 15 month check-up.

Here are her latest stats:

* Weight = 22 lbs. 6 oz. (49th percentile), an increase of 15 lbs. 6 oz. since birth

* Height = 31 in. (74th percentile), an increase of 11 3/4 in. since birth

* Head Circumference = 18 1/4 in. (73rd percentile), an increase of 4 7/8 in. since birth

Here she is tonight, relaxing in her jammies and recovering from her three shots:

Cool Cat

Rebekah was keeping it cool this afternoon, donning Mom's shades so that she could have a low-key lunch.

It must have worked because the paparazzi were nowhere to be seen.

Saturday in the Park

On Saturday, Rebekah checked out the park right outside of Mom's office building in Arlington, Virginia.

Forward Facing

While he works on Mom and Dad's car, Uncle Chris graciously let Mom and Dad borrow his car for the week. Rebekah is a happy camper because she gets to sit forward in his car and scope out the world as it whizzes past her.

Mom and Dad hope that she doesn't lodge a protest at the end of the week when everything is back to normal.

Little Climber

Rebekah scoped out a new park in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of DC on Sunday. Her favorite hobby right now is to repeatedly climb up and down anything she can find. Here she is conquering some steps:

And here is Rebekah sitting proud because she climbed up on the slide.

Riley & Baby Bekah

As of last week, Rebekah has started going to Riley's house during the week days. The girls have been getting along great and Riley thinks it is her job to take care of Rebekah - or, as Riley calls her, Baby Bekah. Here are the girls on a walk in their double stroller:

And here are Riley and Baby Bekah giving Riley's mom a much needed break:

Rebekah is very happy to be spending her days with Riley!

Micro Manager

Rebekah has really grown up but she is still a good little laundry assistant. Check her out overseeing Mom in the laundry room today:

Blast from the Past

Rebekah visited the Baltimore Streetcar Museum this past weekend. Here she is scoping out the goods...

...and taking a spin in a refurbished streetcar.

Dad was too preoccupied with the trolleys to take more pictures of Rebekah.

The Dog Days of Summer

The temperatures have really risen in the last two weeks but Rebekah has been keeping it cool.

Here she is attending Aaron's second birthday out in Ashburn, VA. Mom and Dad did not get many good shots. (Has anyone tried to get a group of toddlers to sit still and smile at the same time?)

The only thing that got Rebekah to stop running around and take a break was birthday cake.

At home, Rebekah has been keeping up with her usual routine of playing/learning...

...observing...

...taking strolls...

...and just overall being cute.
