Christmas Eve 2011
Earlier this evening, Rebekah was interviewed about Christmas:
In addition to the above video, Rebekah dictated the following letter to leave out for Santa:
Dear Santa,
Merry Christmas! I want presents please. I'm a good girl. I was a good girl at school and at my birthday party. I use the potty now. I want train tracks and puzzles. Thank you. Are you sneaking in my house?
Love,
Rebekah

'Tis the Season
Rebekah is very excited about the holiday season and has been attending all of the events around town. As she did last year, Rebekah has returned to ZooLights at the National Zoo.
Yesterday, Rebekah visited Christmas on the Potomac at the Gaylord National Resort in National Harbor, Maryland. Rebekah saw the daily tree lighting ceremony, which included a choreographed music, light, and water fountain show and dancing characters from DreamWorks like Shrek and Kung Fu Panda.
In addition, there are two houses around the corner in DC that go all out for Christmas. One house covers itself in thousands of lights. Across the street, another house lines its yard with inflatable characters.

Big Girl
Rebekah went with Mom to work today to help out. It's been a few years since Rebekah spent time at the office and this time she was a little more productive.
At the office, Rebekah got along well with the few people that were actually in the office on this pre-Thanksgiving day. On the ride home, she even proclaimed that she had made a new friend with one of Mom's co-workers and tried to name all of her friends in the world. Mom asked, "What is a friend though? What does that mean?" Rebekah said, "It's a boy or girl that likes big girls."

Day at the Museum
As part of a weekend trip to Norfolk, Rebekah visited the Children's Museum of Virginia in Portsmouth, Virginia, with her friend, Andrew.
Rebekah tried out everything that the museum had to offer.
Even though she doesn't have a driver's license, Rebekah was allowed to drive a bus...
..and a firetruck.
Rebekah checked out the museum from top to bottom, visiting a pint-sized doctor's office, grocery store, music room, model train displays, science exhibits, and the arts space.
Rebekah will be sure to come back for another visit.

A Capital Time
Rebekah spent Labor Day weekend in Richmond, Virginia, exploring the city and attending Morris's birthday party. One of the non-party highlights was visiting Maymont and exploring the gardens...
Of course, even a new park can't compete with a birthday party:
What is better than visiting with out-of-town friends and eating cake? Rebekah was impressed with the Superman cake that Morris's mom made for him.
Rebekah wasn't the only happy kid. Morris was beaming when he had a crowd singing "Happy Birthday" to him:
After downing some cake, Rebekah got a little wild:
Until we meet again, friends!

Hurricane Irene
Rebekah fared well during this past weekend's hurricane - no property damage and the power never went out. Rebekah even slept through the height of the storm.
After waking up, Rebekah surveyed the damage to the neighborhood, which consisted of fallen limbs and leaves everywhere.
Although many businesses were closed on Sunday, Rebekah found a place to eat. While waiting for her food, Rebekah checked out one of the many uprooted trees outside the window.
Here is Rebekah proudly standing in front of one of the downed trees:
With last week's earthquake and this hurricane out of the way, Rebekah is hoping that no more natural disasters hit any time soon.

Roosevelt Island
Rebekah is always up for an adventure so she headed out to explore Roosevelt Island this past weekend. After walking the trail, Rebekah arrived at the memorial plaza on the island and was ready to run around and have a snack:
Before she left, Rebekah made sure to show off her best Teddy Roosevelt impression:

Farm Fun
It's that time of year again - open house at the Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary. Rebekah has been to the farm each year to check in on the animals. This time, Rebekah invited her buddy, Lincoln, to join her. It was a real scorcher today but the girls buckled up and hit the road:
Upon arriving at the farm...
Rebekah was sure to break out her patented camera smile:
One of the highlights was a new rescue - a one-month old lamb:
The girls even went on a hayride:
Despite the extreme temperatures, Rebekah and Lincoln had a great time.
